The Biopsy RN in Interventional Radiology supports patients during image-guided biopsy and related diagnostic procedures. The RN provides procedural nursing support, assists with patient monitoring during procedures, administers and monitors sedation as appropriate, supports the physician and procedural team, and responds to changes in patient condition during procedures. This role requires strong assessment skills and the ability to manage patients safely in a procedural setting. ED, PACU, or Critical Care experience is preferred, though other relevant RN experience will be considered.

A caregiver in this position works days| 7:00am—5:30pm| 4-10s| Holidays – closed on hospital's recognized holidays. On-call requirement of one weekend every 10-12 weeks. On the call weekend, caregivers are on call for emergency cases 7am-7pm on Saturday and Sunday.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
\n
Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
\n
Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
\n
Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
\n
Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
\n
\n
Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
\n
Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
\n
Educate patients and families.
\n
Cover other nursing roles in the department.
\n
\n \n
\n
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
\n \n\n
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program)
\n
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
\n
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
\n
*If in an ED, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department.
\n
*If in areas operating with Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC Lines), Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) or Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC) certification is preferred within three years of hire.
\n
One year of recent experience as an RN
\n
OR Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department (may substitute for required RN experience)
\n
Current demonstrated clinical competence
\n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
\n
