Industrial Painter Apply Your Skills to Deliver High-Quality Finishes Newberry Tanks & Equipment is seeking an experienced
Industrial Painter to join our manufacturing team in West Memphis, AR. This role is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing steel tank components to meet company and customer specifications. What You'll Do - Prepare steel surfaces for painting through cleaning, sanding, grinding, and other surface preparation methods.
- Apply primers, epoxies, polyurethanes, and other industrial coatings using airless and conventional spray systems.
- Mix coatings accurately according to manufacturer specifications and required ratios.
- Inspect finished surfaces and ensure coatings meet quality, thickness, and appearance requirements.
- Identify and correct coating defects such as runs, contamination, dry spray, or coverage issues.
- Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot spray equipment and painting tools.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
- Work closely with production and fabrication teams to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
What We're Looking For - Experience with industrial painting, surface preparation, and coating application.
- Knowledge of airless and conventional spray equipment.
- Ability to read work orders, drawings, and production specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to safely work with paints, coatings, and related materials.
- Dependable attendance, strong work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.
Preferred Qualifications - Three or more years of industrial painting experience in a manufacturing, heavy equipment, or fabrication environment.
- Experience applying epoxy, polyurethane, and other industrial coating systems.
- Experience painting tanks, structural steel, heavy equipment, or fabricated products.
- Familiarity with coating inspection tools and coating thickness gauges.
- Knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- English/Spanish bilingual a plus.
Physical Requirements - Ability to stand and work throughout the shift.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to climb, stoop, bend, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Visual acuity necessary to inspect coated surfaces and ensure quality standards are met.
